Marva Watson

May 17, 1933 — May 25, 2022

Marva Young Watson passed away on May 25, 2022, peacefully in her home in Heber City, Utah, at the age of 89. She was born on May 17, 1933, to Dulce Emily Adelaide Rose and Wilson LeRoy Young. She met the love of her life, Nyle Thomas Watson, in high school and married him on September 2, 1952. They went on to build a beautiful life together with their 10 kids.

Marva has had a life time of serving. There was always a meal or dessert ready to be delivered to someone in need. She was committed to serving all she loved and those around her. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in numerous capacities her entire life. She was a beautiful seamstress that all her kids benefitted from with matching traveling outfits, Easter Sunday attire, prom dresses, and even wedding dresses. She crocheted like no other, covering her large family with wash cloths and beautiful afghan blankets. She also donated countless spun hats, dresses, and other items to humanitarian projects. Mom loved to do puzzles but enjoyed more the conversations that happened around a puzzle. She also loved playing games. She was a master gardener and an avid reader. She worked side by side with her husband in their business ventures and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. Out of necessity for feeding a large family, Mom was an amazing cook and would can, bottle, pickle or freeze just about anything. She loved music and singing. She was a loyal, devoted, and compassionate friend. She loved everyone with equal depth and strength. She happily sacrificed for her family her whole life, not noticing that it was ever a sacrifice.

Marva is survived by her devoted husband Nyle Thomas Watson, her sister Merle Broadbent, and her ten children Debi Free, Wayne Watson (Luana), Wendee Stevens (John), Bonnie Mobley, Tamara North (Steve), Sandra Miller (Russ), Susan Taylor (Wade), Jennifer Hopkins (Andy), Malynda Threet (Ben), and Michael Watson (Jen). She has 43 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dulce and Wilson Young, her sister Carol, her brothers Jack, Keith and Jimmy, her granddaughter Jamie Mobley and great-granddaughter Madelyn Christiansen.
