Marva June Edwards

March 15, 1934 — March 4, 2022

Marva June Thacker Edwards passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Heber City, Utah. She was born on March 15, 1934 in Charleston, Utah to Ray Alva Thacker and Mable Jemima Casper Thacker. She was the youngest of seven children with four brothers and two sisters. She had a happy childhood, being raised in Charleston. Her father owned a portable saw mill, so most summers, the family would go to the mountains to log and haul lumber to town. Marva, her mother and sisters would prepare meals and do other household chores at their camp while the boys worked with their dad cutting lumber.
Marva married Floyd Edwards of Charleston on June 18, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple, only a few weeks after her graduation from Wasatch High School in Heber. Together they operated a dairy farm with Floyd’s brother Doug Edwards and his wife Joyce. In 1960, Floyd and Marva moved their family of five and their cows to Kuna, Idaho, where they purchased a farm of their own. Two more children joined their family once they were in Idaho. They had good times and challenging times over the next three decades. Marva worked hard on the farm alongside Floyd to make their dairy operation a success. She had many opportunities through the years to serve in the community and in her church. She was PTA president at Kuna Elementary School for many years. Marva and Floyd were members of the Ada-Canyon Holstein club and had many fun experiences with other dairy producers in the Treasure Valley. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Lord and His teachings. She served as a primary teacher, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, and the Ward and Stake organist. Most of all, she enjoyed being with the love of her life, Floyd.
Marva is survived by her children: Debra Plane (Randy), of Twin Falls, Idaho, Glen Edwards (Kristine) of Kuna, Idaho, Karen Beard (Paul) of Sandy, Utah, Wayne Edwards (Shari Jo) of Provo, Utah, and Aaron Edwards (Lo’riJane) of Fallon, Nevada. Marva was the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and thirty-eight, soon to be 39, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers, sisters and their spouses, her beloved husband Floyd and granddaughter Tracy Edwards.
There will be a viewing at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 325 East 500 North, Heber City, Utah, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:45 am.
