Madelyn Wootton Larsen, 85, passed away in Kirkland, Washington on December 15, 2017. Born in Heber City, Utah on March 9, 1932, she was the third daughter of Lorenzo and Thelma Wootton. After graduating from Wasatch High School in Heber City she attended Brigham Young University where she earned a degree in elementary education. She was teaching kindergarten in Salt Lake City when she met her future husband, Don Beck Larsen. They were married in 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. In the early 1960s they moved to Washington state as Don was an Army reservist and was called up to Fort Lewis. They remained in Washington, building a home in Sammamish where they have lived for the last fifty years.
Madelyn loved music, books, gardening, NPR radio, the Seahawks and the Mariners. But mostly she loved socializing with her family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her husband, Don, her sons, Jon Larsen and Jeff (Kris) Larsen, her daughters, Cynthia (Merrill) Clark, Martha (Michael) Pronk, and Becky Larsen, and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Barbara Rae Lewis and Evelyn Swain Furner.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Duthie Hill Ward LDS Chapel, 26529 SE Duthie Hill Road, Sammamish, Washington. She will be buried at the Midway, Utah cemetery on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 am. A family gathering will follow at the LDS Church located at 1102 S. Center Street, Midway. TCIT!
