Lita Beth Moreton

November 12, 1924 — July 18, 2017

Our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Lita Beth Johnson Moreton, age 92, was reunited with her beloved Lynn after 38 years apart on July 18, 2017, the day before what would have been their 74th wedding anniversary.

Lita was born on November 12, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Olga Louise Peterson and Joseph DeVerl Johnson. She graduated from West High School in 1942. She served as senior class vice-president where she demonstrated the genuine kindness she would be known for throughout her life.

Lita married her sweetheart, Lynn Raymond Moreton on July 19, 1943 in Fresno, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Lita was a hard worker who showed dedication to many jobs throughout her life. She worked for over 20 years at South East Furniture Company. She continued her career at Interwest Electronics working full-time until age 77 when she retired. She dearly loved her boss, Randy Call, whom she considered another son.

Lita was a faithful member of the LDS church who served in various callings throughout her life. Even in her later years when she was no longer able to attend services, she faithfully sent the Relief Society newsletter to other homebound sisters. She loved the gospel and desired that all her children and grandchildren receive all the blessings she enjoyed.

Lita adored her family. She had an excellent memory and always remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. She especially cherished her family vacations to Disneyland, her “happiest place on Earth.” Her life was one of love, service, and giving.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Moreton of Surrey, BC; a son Michael (Kimille) of Sandy, UT: a daughter-in-law, Linda Moreton of Meridian, ID; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn, a son, Gary Lynn, and her sister, Olga Nadine Mortensen.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Millcreek 9th LDS Chapel (4220 S. Jeannine Dr., Salt Lake City). There will be a viewing the evening before from 6-8pm and from 10-10:45am prior to the funeral both at the church.

The family would like to thank the devoted staff at Holladay Healthcare, especially Alan, for their loving care of Lita the last few months of her life.

We love you Juice!
