Linda Diane Powell

Linda Diane Mair Powell passed away at the age of 75 on February 23, 2025, in Provo, Utah. Linda came into this world on April 9, 1949, in Heber City, Utah, born to Lois and Lynn Mair. On October 8, 1984, she married the love of her life Jack Powell.

Linda was raised LDS, her love for her Heavenly Father and family was her top priority and she found happiness in serving others. Linda's professional and personal life was a mission of serving others. She aided others by being a nurse's aide, driving for United Way, and helped family members no longer able to care for themselves by moving them into her home. She ran errands for those who could no longer get around. She always brought somebody who was alone home for the holidays. Her love for her grandchildren inspired her to become a passionate advocate for grandparent rights in Utah, successfully lobbying for a law to be passed that benefits grandparents throughout the state. She loved to dance and sing when going out. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, showcasing her creative side. Her sweet nature was beautifully balanced by her feisty spirit, making her a truly unique and inspiring individual.

She is survived by her daughter, Tresa Prevatke; granddaughter’s, Jackalynn, Amanda, Andrea, and Melinda; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Tony, Meliya, Isaac, Taylor, and Elora; great-great granddaughter, Ophelia; and sister, Marie.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lynn Mason Mair; mother, Lois Mae Bird; sister, Becky Mair; brother, David Mair; husband, Jack Powell; and grandson’s, James and Robert.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 12:30 PM at 521 E 500 N, Heber City, UT 84032. Interment will take place at the Heber City Cemetery.
