Liesa Joan Thielke
Cox
March 8, 1936 – April 30, 2026
Heber City Cemetery
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Mountain time)
Liesa was born in the Old Miner's Hospital in Park City, UT to Henry Ludwig Thielke and Ruby Lucille McDonald Thielke. Liesa spent most of her life in the Wasatch area. She was a faithful loving member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, which she received a Fifty-Year Certificate from the Grand Chapter of Wyoming on November 12, 2018. Liesa had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and often spoke of this love to her family and friends.
Liesa had a strong love for her family and always had a kind word, a special piece of advice or a life lesson to share. She also had a sense of humor.
Liesa finally found and married the love of her life, Gene Willard Cox in Ely, Nevada on September 5, 1976. They were later sealed in the Provo Temple for time and eternity on June 21, 2012.
Liesa obtained her Certificate of Practical Nursing on August 29, 1975, from the Utah Technical College at Provo. After nursing, she obtained a Certificate in Medical Records. Liesa's care showed in all the love she poured into taking care of her children and the people in the Heber Valley.
Liesa loved working with her hands, making something from scratch that gave others joy. She loved canning, knitting, needlepointing, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and driving around in the mountains (ridge running as they called it) with her husband Gene.
Liesa was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Willard Cox and daughters, Pamela Kim Duke and Shiela Jean Titcomb. She leaves behind her daughters, Susan Jane (Stacy) Davis; Patricia Kay (Richard) Emerson; Martha Evelyn (Kevin) Farley; Gina Marie Cox (Rod) Talbot and son John Henry (Holly) Cox, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a newly arrived great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, Liesa wanted donations made to her favorite charity "Quarters for Christmas".
Interment is at the Heber City Cemetery with graveside services on May 30th, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
