LaVerl J Graham returned home on January 12, 2015. He was born on April 16,1937 in Wallsburg to James and Alice Graham. He married the love of his life, Doylene Shepherd, more than 59 years ago. They were sealed for time and eternity in 1963. He attended schools in Wallsburg and Heber, graduating from Wasatch High School. He was employed at Geneva Steel and Heckett Engineering for many years.
LaVerl loved his family very much, and the title of "Gramps" was his favorite. He loved taking care of his family and serving others. His favorite hobbies included spending time with others, hunting, camping, gardening, and his race cars. He enjoyed racing at Suntana Raceway, and on the Bonneville Salt Flats. LaVerl loved his time serving as a temple worker, in bishoprics, and serving in various callings. Trips to Davis Gulch, a naval aircraft carrier, and several trips to the High Uintahs with his Scouts were lifetime highlights.
LaVerl is preceded in death by a great-grandson Ty Hicken, great-granddaughter Hannah Hicken, his parents, a brother, Ray Graham, sisters; Phyllis (Roy) Davis, Mildred (Charlie) Sabey, Myrth, (Morlin) Conder, & IvaDell Sinkinson, and a brother-in-law Elmo Sabey. He is survived by a sister, Fern Sabey, & sister-in-law Barbara Graham.
LaVerl and Doylene are the parents of Kim (Tom) Hicken, Doyle (Tammy) Graham, Kelly Graham, and Jess (Dana) Graham. They are the very proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with 3 more expected soon.
Services will be held on Friday, January 16 at 11:00 A.M at the Wallsburg Ward chapel (494 W Main Canyon RD). A visitation will be held at 9:45-10:45 A.M. prior to the service. There will also be a visitation at the same location on Thursday, January 15 from 6-8 P.M. Interment in Wallsburg City Cemetery.
