Lamar Kenneth Larsen

LaMar died on Sept. 20, 2022 in Fruitland, Utah. He was born March 22,1953 in Ogden, Utah to Glen Larsen and LaRae Young. He married Launa Clea Newman on Feb. 14, 1998

LaMar was a well-known outdoors man who spent almost all of his time outside – even when he was at home. He loved camping, hosting, boating, and fishing.

He spent most of his childhood in Dubois, Wyoming, near Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. He was an expert hunting and trail guide in the Wyoming Mountains.

He was a talented cook and co-owned and operated several iconic roadside restaurants with his father. In addition, he was an electrician, truck driver, and fun-loving carnival worker.

LaMar’s love of travel and adventure took him all over the country. He cooked on the Alaska pipeline and on crabbing boats.

He married Launa Clea Newman in 1998 and created his own personal campground in Fruitland which was his dream. He called this the Lazy-L Ranch.

He loved the holidays, especially Christmas and was a professional Santa Claus who embodied the spirit of the season. His holiday light displays are a local attraction.

Of all the jobs he had, his favorite was being a dad, husband and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Launa Larsen, Son, Jody Larsen (Cynthia Larsen), Daughter, Goldie Barnett (Mike Barnett),Daughter Jennifer Roberts (Josh Roberts),Daughter Amber Carner, Daughter Rebekah Garrard (Josh Garrard), Granddaughters Ava and Ana Roberts, Parents Glen “Ziggy” Larsen, LaRae Spencer, Siblings: Glenna Lorentz, Sherry Robinson, Tamra Frank (Greg), Jason Spencer, Ronda Clark (Richard), Curtis Larsen (Stacey).

There will be a viewing will be on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heber Valley Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, Utah.

The funeral will held on Wednesday, Sept. 28th at 11:00 am at the Fruitland LDS Chapel in Fruitland, Utah. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral at 9:00 am.

Interment will be at Strawberry Cemetery in Duchesne, Utah immediately following the funeral.
