Kurt Ray Nelson, 90, of Park City, Utah, passed away April 17, 2025.
Kurt was born on October 19, 1934, in Heber, Utah to William and Paloma Nelson. After high school, Kurt joined the Navy and served during the Korean war. He returned home and met Alice Noreen Goff and they married on April 27, 1956. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 2010. They lived in Salt Lake City for a few years and then bought a home in Park City, Utah, a place they loved. Kurt worked for General Electric, where he led a successful career spanning 30 years.
Kurt and Noreen had two daughters together, Lori Morden (Clifford) and Jacqueline Nelson. After retirement, he would spend his time often traveling to see them and their families. These travels would take him across the United States and overseas.
Kurt was a devoted Utah Jazz fan, he proudly held season tickets. He played golf and enjoyed running. At home, he was an avid reader and could often be found staying up reading until late in the night. He enjoyed working with his hands, taking pride in his very accomplished home improvement projects. Kurt was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Kurt was an incredibly giving and loving person. He was always willing to help anyone and wanted to be friends with everyone. He was an extraordinary husband, father, best friend, brother, and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Nelson; six grandchildren, Ashlee, Brooke (Jeff), Mica (Eric), Matt (Brooke), Ryan (Lisa) and Dylan (Paola; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Noreen; daughter, Lori Morden (Clifford); sister, Revee Johnson; nephew, Scott Johnson; and his parents, William and Paloma.
There will be a graveside service at Park City Cemetery at 12:00 pm on May 12, 2025 followed by a luncheon at the Park City LDS Church at 2300 Monitor Dr, Park City, UT 84060. Please visit
