Kim Howard Hoover

October 19, 1951 — June 14, 2024

Kim Howard Hoover was born in Provo to Olive Maxine Mullett and Keith Howard Hoover on October 19, 1951. He attended Edgemont Elementary and graduated from Orem High School in 1969. His first job was a VW auto mechanic. He loved old motorcycles, tote gotes and dune buggies. He was called to serve in the Venezuela/Colombia Mission in 1971. The mission was immediately divided and Elder Hoover served in Colombia under the direction of President William Calvert until 1973.

Kim attended BYU where he met his wife Jean Louise Villella. They married in the Idaho Falls Temple in Dec. 1975. Kim graduated BYU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Medical Technology in 1976 and moved his family of three to Heber Valley. He was employed by the Wasatch County Hospital as a Medical Technologist and X-ray Tech. later becoming the manager of the Laboratory at Intermountain Medical Center in Heber for his career of 40 years, retiring in 2017.

The Hoovers built their home in Midway in fall of 1977 and moved into their current home just before their twins were born in the next spring. Kim loved this valley and the people he served. He had many opportunities to give Priesthood Blessings to the sick when they asked him in the hospital and served faithfully in the community and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He accepted every calling from the Lord and served as a Temple worker, in Nursery to Bishoprics, Boosters, Swiss Days Etc. His favorite time was when he served for many years as the Scout Master where his 5 sons all became Eagle Scouts. His family was everything to him. Kim often expressed gratitude for their faithfulness and felt that they brought honor to his name. His Children are: Nicole Marie/ Brad Ellis, Heather Deanne/Russ Christensen, Heidi Suzanne/Bryant Robertson, Kody Howard/Jennie, Bryce Howard/Stephanie, Kelly Howard-(stillborn), Scott Howard/Jennifer, Wade Howard/Emmeline, Blake Howard/Heidi, Kristi Ayana/Andy Beutler, Kayla Jean, Jodie Racquel/Michael Paskett. 47 Grandchildren.

Kim is an Outdoorsman. He taught snow skiing for 45 years, PSIA III Instructor. He loves Camping, Hiking, Water sports, Boating, Climbing, Exploring dessert cracks, Hunting, Mechanics, Woodworking, Gardening, Cooking, Baking and Restoring old Jeeps. He used all these talents to bless the lives of his family and others. He noticed the beauties around him and expressed deep appreciation for this beautiful world God created for Him.

Kim’s father died in a Colorado river accident when he was 8. In 2014 His stepfather, Don Hansen, before his death, asked Kim, the only son, to care for his Mom which Kim did with much tenderness and love until her death in 2023. She lived into her 100th year. His Sisters are: Pam(Jeff) Robert, Teri Robert, Shannon(Jerry)Anderson and Mary(Rick) Mallory.

Funeral Services will be held in the Midway LDS Legacy Church 250 E. 200 S. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation from 9:00 to 10:30am.
