It is with love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Kent Leroyd Davis, October 2, 2017. Kent was born in Midway on December 3, 1924 to Charles L Davis and Lacy Van Wagenen Davis. He moved to Salt Lake City as a youth where he attended school, graduating from South High School. As a youth he loved fishing and being outdoors. He started working at EIMCO Corp. at the age of 16. He served his country during World War II in the South Pacific. Upon his return he continued to work at EIMCO Corp., retiring after 38 years. After retiring he joined with longtime friends to establish Westech Engineering.
He married Mary Jane McAllister on October 9, 1947. They had two sons, Lon and Michael. Mary Jane passed away October 9, 1988.
He married Delores Manning June 29, 1990. He was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed basketball and football. During his life he was an accomplished writer. He loved to write poetry and also published a book about Lincoln. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a former beloved Bishop of the Mill Road Ward in Heber City.
Kent leaves behind his wife Delores and one son Michael Kent (Kimberly), 8 grandchildren Andrew (Kristen) Jorgensen, Melissa (Karl) Eiche, Miken Davis, Nicholas (Ashlee) Jorgensen, Spencer (Aleisha) Davis, Erin (Greg) McClain, Matt (Darby) Davis, and Lacy Davis, and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane, a son Lon, a brother Van Davis and a sister Arva Gray, and one great grandchild.
A viewing will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and Saturday October 7, 2017 from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at the Cobblestone Ward building (1661 East 980 South, Heber City).
