Kathleen L. Heller

November 23, 1942 — February 10, 2020

Kathleen L. Heller, seventy-seven years young, dearly beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, crossed over into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and family that had gone before her on the tenth of February, 2020. Kate was born in California on the twenty-third of November, 1942 to Dwight and Melba Lenzi. As a teenager in California, Kate used to love to participate in Polynesian dance competitions in Oakland, California. She was married in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Dean Heller. Shortly after their marriage the Heller’s moved to Akron, Ohio and had two children, Eric Heller and Heidi Heller. In 1980 she began a banking career at First National Bank of Akron. In 1983, Kate moved to Heber City, Utah to be with her family, where she went straight to work banking at First Security Bank and stayed there for 20 years. She was then offered a position at Heber Valley National Bank, where she retired after nine years. Kate made many lifetime friends throughout this career.

Kate’s family helped settle Heber valley, homesteading Lindsay Hill. She loved the history of this great valley! Kate and her daughter moved to several different houses, finally settling in her home next to her mother, Melba Lenzi. Kate loved to work at the temple; she had a very special testimony of the sacred place. Kate loved to drive and could navigate herself anywhere-she learned that from her father who was a truck driver. Kate loved gardening, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She spent every free moment and then some with them. She will be greatly missed.

Kate was survived by her sister, Peggy Purdue, her children, Eric Heller and Heidi Heller, and her grandchildren, Kurt (Amerie) Nye, Kevin (Savannah) Nye, Kassidy Heller, and Reid Heller, and great-grandchildren, Bacardee, Jagger, and Brooklyn Nye.
