Karen Watkins Haueter Kinder age 84 died peacefully in her Heber City home on April 26, 2025. She was born on October 1, 1940, in Midway, Utah to Lyman and Nelda Watkins, the second of seven children. She married Russell Dean Haueter; they had five children and later divorced. She later married LaMar Kinder and later divorced.
Karen had many jobs throughout her life. She was amazingly talented at painting, cake decorating, quilting, and anything she put her mind to doing.
Karen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions and really enjoyed working in the temple.
Without question the greatest joy in her life was family. She loved all her family, being around them, cheering them on in whatever they were doing. Family parties were her favorite: visiting, laughing, eating, and dessert was a must. The world shines a little less without her in it.
Karen is survived by her children: Billy (Kathy) Haueter, Robert Haueter, and Melodie (Ken) Horne; 4 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Shelly (Marland) Johnson; brothers, Blaine (Shari) Watkins and Floyd Watkins; sisters in law, Liz Watkins and Connie ward; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Doyle (Jean) Haueter and Russell (Sheila) Haueter; parents, Lyman Watkins and Nelda Sweat Watkins; brothers, Dale Watkins and Tom Watkins; sister, Marcyne (Lamar) Jensen; and sister-in-law Carrie Lou.
A special thanks to A-Plus Hospice for the compassionate and respectful care that they gave to our mother.
