Although she was small in stature at "5'1 ¾" there was nothing small about her loving heart, goofy personality, courage and limitless ability to love everyone and everything. She was blessed with three children; two daughters, Janine and Crusan, and a son, Andy, who we know welcomed her home with a giant hug. She loved her children and her grand-babies (Kaeliann, Kaden, Tika, MaKenna, and Carsun) and had special relationships with each of them. They will treasure each custom birthday song, silly little dance, improvised vocabulary... "Hoonta-hey!" The love of her life is Charles Acklin. They celebrated 49 years of marriage and were sealed in the Salt Lake temple. She always bragged that she'd been dating her "boyfriend" for 54 years. They were literally "made for each other" as they defied the odds and were a perfect match, not only as a couple but also physically. Charles gained ten extra years with his sweetheart when he was able to donate his kidney to her. There is no greater love. The gospel was a central part of Karen's life. She loved the church since the day she joined. The lives of countless children were blessed while she served with her whole heart as a primary teacher. Karen Acklin is a true example of enduring to the end. Despite numerous health trials, all who knew her have been influenced by her endless joy and eternal positivity.
