Joyce Collard Anderson

Joyce Collard Anderson of Daniels, Utah passed away on March 9, 2019. We can imagine her joy meeting her departed loved ones! Joyce was born on September 25, 1929 in Fountain Green, Utah to Harry and Veora Mikkelsen Collard. She graduated from Moroni High School in 1947. In 1949, her father sold his sheep business and purchased a dairy business in Daniels.

On November 29, 1952, Joyce married George E. Anderson, and they became the parents of 8 children. George died in 1985, leaving Joyce with the family and farm to care for. She worked for the phone company as an operator, Maverick, Daniels Water Company, and Wasatch School District (lunch program).

She is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by 6 of her children: Chris (Renee), Mark (Elizabeth), Susan, Doug, Diann (Mike Glenn), and Allan. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister Ruth Syme, sister-in-law Pat Collard, brother Harry (Barbara) Collard, and son-in- law Jeff Laird. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ed Collard, sisters Fay Pay and Betty Collard, daughters Julie Laird and Paulette Anderson, and granddaughter Chelsea Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Daniels Canyon Ward building at 715 East 600 South in Heber City with viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am and the funeral starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church Humanitarian Fund. The family thanks the caregivers at Abbington and IHC Hospice.
