Joseph Murray Sakaye, age 78 passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Heber City, Utah February, 20, 2017. Joe passed away from lung cancer that he had been battling for the past two years.
He was born December 2, 1938 in Great Falls Montana to Kay Sakaye and Ella Hirose. Joe moved to Utah in 1971 and started his own drywall company, Sakaye & Sons Drywall. Him and his wife Beverly raised their children in Utah until his retirement in 2006 when Joe and Bev moved back to their beloved Montana for the next chapter in their lives. He was a great husband, father, brother, and friend to everyone who knew him. His strong and caring nature is what kept him going to overcome any obstacle in his way. He was happiest when he was fishing, hunting and helping family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years Beverly Sakaye, children John Sakaye, and Joe Wetzel (Annie) from Great Falls Montana, Jody Nicol from Heber City, UT, Darlene Deloris Cyril, Joe Gray and Carolyn Kay Gray (Carlson) from Alaska, sister Nancy (Fred) from Kentucky and many grand children and great grandchildren.
Presided in death by his father, mother, siblings Art, Mary, Kuskay, Robert, and Jim, and his two granddaughters Priscilla Wetzel and Jessica Sweat.
