Joan Stella Luke Radmall, Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend passed away at home January 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Joan, the oldest of 3 girls, was born to Charles Leo and Stella Hair Luke on July 31, 1940, at her grandparents Frank and Cordelia Luke’s home in Midway.
As a kid, Joan enjoyed riding horses, swimming at Luke’s Hot Pot’s (which was started by her great grandpa Andrew Luke), and going to the movies with her sister MaryJane and Grandma Luke at Coleman’s Movie Theater in Midway. Joan’s parents owned a small Dairy Farm where she learned how to milk cows, Tromp and Haul Hay, and harvest pot rocks! Joan, a True Midway Native graduated from Wasatch High School in 1958.
She married Robert D. Radmall on September 30, 1966. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah Temple. They have 6 children.
Throughout her life, she worked at many places including: Turner’s Cafe, Hi-Way Motel, Midway Elementary School, Nielson’s Midway Market (where she had her 15 seconds of fame, as an extra in a made for tv movie in 1992), Day’s Market (old building), Tri-Mart, Main Street Station, Smith’s Photo Lab and America First Credit Union. She also hosted many Tupperware and Tri-Chem Paint Parties and was an Avon Lady for 37 years.
Joan was creative and loved making and giving things to her family and friends. Her latest creations were her beautiful dream catchers. She loved singing the “old Favorites” with her Mom and said the most rewarding times were singing for the Wasatch County Hospital Extended Care and Rocky Mountain Care Center, usually once a month and they did this for several years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. One of her favorite callings in the church was secretary for the Primary organization and she served here for many years.
Joan was a woman with a big and generous heart. Her home was always open for family and friends needing a place to stay. She loved her family, extended family, and Elvis Presley very much!
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
