Jean passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Orem, Utah on August 20, 2026. She was Born on November 10, 1938, in Heber City, Utah to Lynn and Dawna McDonald. Jean lived a full and wonderful life.

She experienced many good times as well as many hardships and trials. Her greatest joy and accomplishments in life were her children. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she never forgot a birthday.

Jean loved nature and the outdoors, she spent many years hiking and biking the Uintah, Teton and San Juan Mountains. She especially loved the southwest and had her home decorated with many Native American decorations.

Surviving Jean are her husband, George Maier; son, Jeff (Joan) Winterton; sisters, Joy (Jeff) Hardman and Linda (Lamar) Gray; 4 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan; son, Mike; grandson, Riley; brother, Nile; and sister-in-law, Karma.

A graveside service for Jean will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Charleston Town Cemetery, 2800 US-189, Charleston, Utah.
