Jay C. Sulser, age 94, died August 12, 2022, in Heber City, Utah. He was born in Midway, Utah to Homer Sulser and Laura Sorensen Sulser on June 11, 1928. He married his sweetheart Ruth Giles on March 19, 1948. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children whom are still living. They lived in Midway, Utah and later settled in Heber City, Utah to raise their family. They bought Ruth’s grandmother Stanley’s house.
Dad loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed taking his family to Yellowstone with his parents and siblings. Dad worked in the Park City mines for a short time. He was a heavy equipment operator most of his life. Dad was a hard worker and taught his children to work hard and finish what they started. Dad loved his cutter horses and running them on chariot races. Mom and Dad loved to travel and spend time in the winters in Beaver Dam with their many friends. They spent a lot of time in the summer at Hanna. Dad enjoyed his visits from his home teachers Quintin and Trevor Lewis.
Jay is survived by his 5 children; Jayne (Leon) Huffaker, Midway, Utah, Kent (LeeAnn) Sulser, Bountiful, Utah, Allan (Shirley) Sulser, Heber City, Utah, Lynn (Peggy) Sulser, Heber City, Utah, and John Sulser, Davenport. Florida; and his brother Terry (KayLynn) Sulser, Durant, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Laura, his sisters Eunice, Patsy, and Relva, his brother Bud, and his great-grandsons, Ty Hicken and Clayton Davis.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the Heber 5th Ward, 325 East 500 North, Heber City, Utah, from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Midway City Cemetery, 600 West 500 South, Midway, Utah. For those unable to attend the services in person, please visit:
