Jane Gappmayer Gardner, born February 23, 1941, passed away on August 8, 2016 at her home in Wallsburg, Utah. Jane was the daughter of Reed and Edith Cox Gappmayer and spent the first few years living in Orem before her family moved to Wallsburg where she grew up on the family farm. While growing up, she met and later married the love of her life, Wayne A Gardner on May 6th 1960. They were able to share 52 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012. Jane worked many jobs throughout the years; they included working as a seamstress at the old Heber sewing factory and also at Holiday Lanes, where she showed her true talent as short order cook. After Wayne’s retirement from Geneva Steel, she and Wayne spent their time working at the Daniels Summit Lodge. Jane loved the outdoors. She was an avid hunter, and you would be hard pressed to find her from the first of August until November, unless you were in the mountains above Wallsburg. She even had the nickname of Calamity Jane because she was best shot around. She was a lifetime member of the Timpanogos Archery Club where she and Wayne traveled to numerous archery events throughout the state. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that she met. She is survived by three children; Diane (Ed) Wall, Carolyn (Rick) Kinsey, and Brian (Pam) Gardner. Also 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Brothers Frank (Nancy) Gappmayer, Bob (Vicki) Gappmayer, Sisters Donna Emry, Lois (Clayton) Gardner, Carol (Swenson), and Ella (Kent) Berg. Preceded in death, by her husband, Wayne, her parents, Reed and Edith, and a brother, Glen Picking. A viewing will be held at the Wallsburg LDS chapel on August 11th, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. a graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Wallsburg Cemetery.
