James Grant Webster

November 17, 1961 — May 17, 2015

Jim slipped quietly away at home on the afternoon of May 17, 2015 after a four year fight with cancer. Jim was born November 17, 1961 in Heber City, Utah to Grant James Webster and Kathern Batty. He grew up feeding and milking cows, mending fences, and fixing tractors on the Webster Dairy Farm. From this he learned to be a dedicated and hard worker who could fix anything and everything. He earned his Eagle Scout award and had wonderful memories of his time in scouts with his leader John Besendorfer. His career was in the building industry where he spent almost 30 years of his life first as a store manager and then as a salesman. He loved the contractors he worked with and most became his good friends. Jim purchased and remodeled the old family home on Webster Lane and lived there until it was destroyed by a fire in 2013. Jim was in the process of rebuilding a new home on the property when his cancer began to take its toll. It was difficult for him to turn in his tool belt and watch as others stepped in to build the home. We are sad that he did not get to see it completed, but know that he fought a good fight and that it was time for him to be free of pain. Jim’s favorite task was mowing his lawn, which always looked immaculate. He would place a cushion in front of him for Eli, his youngest son, and they would mow together. He loved his trucks throughout the years, and everyone knew to wipe their feet before getting in because he wanted it clean. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, tractor, snow mobiles and four wheelers. He loved family parties and always cooked a big breakfast on the fourth of July for the extended Webster family as well as throwing fun Halloween parties.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janene; children, Cody, Jordan (Jenna), Cameron, Eli, and step-children, Tiffani, Taylor and Parker. He was thrilled to be Grandpa to Cade and Treyson. He is also survived by his sister Diane (Howard) of Wallsburg, Marilyn (Kim) of Plymouth, and Robert (Paulette) of Heber. He was preceded in death by his parents Grant James Webster and Kathern Batty.
