James Leonard Burman, Sr, of Heber City, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2023, at the age of 80. Jim was born October 3, 1942, to Adele and Leonard Burman in Beaver Dam Wisconsin. Jim was an only child.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at 17 years old. He served in the Air force as an airframe and powerplant mechanic. After his military service he moved to California with his Dad. There he began working in auto repair and mufflers. Jim then moved to Seattle for a period, working for Boeing . Jim moved back to San Jose California. There he met the love of his life, Nancy Hartman. He married Nancy on May 19, 1979. Jim had 3 children, Julie, James and Jennifer at the time he met Nancy. With her help and support they raised them together. Jim and Nancy have spent the last 48 years exploring together.
In 1981 they moved their family to the Heber Valley. Jim started Mountain Muffler here in Heber City. Jim continued to run Mountain Muffler until he retired. Jim had many interests and hobbies. Jim loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride dirt bikes, prospect for gold, fly his plane and pretty much just be outdoors. He loved to see where every road led to. He loved his dogs and horses. His sense of humor was infectious, and his smile could light up infinite spaces. Jim was a loyal friend to many.
Jim is survived by the love of his life, Nancy Burman of Heber City, Utah; daughter Julie Black of Vernal, son James (Michele) Burman of Wallsburg, and daughter Jennifer Burman Farrer of Colorado. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Tyson, Paige, Hailee, Sarah, Chad, Skylar, Farrell, Jackson, Kellon, Amber, Chelsea, Colton and Shyloe; 15 great grandchildren and two loyal dogs.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Adele Albersmeier and Leonard Burman, and a great granddaughter, Kinley Stewart.
Jim will be missed greatly by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on September 23, 2023, at 1007 North Valley Drive, Heber City, Utah from 2:00-7:00p.m.
