Jaclyn Sweat McNiell was born on December 3, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died on December 12, in Kaysville, Utah at the age of 93, surrounded by a loving family. She was born to Vina Veneta Fausett and Earl Joshua Sweat who helped raise Jaclyn after he married Veneta.
Jaclyn grew up in Fruitland, Utah and married her high school sweetheart, Ted McNiell on September 3, 1950. Jaclyn was a warm woman whose life was characterized by serving others. Whether it was hosting parties and making pies, to organizing quilting for humanitarian aid, Jackie gave of herself. She raised children while supporting her husband’s career and eventually worked for a credit union and the state tax commission. She loved sewing, quilting, riding horses, baking, and being with family. In retirement Jackie and Ted served three LDS missions to India, Uganda, and Far West, Missouri. Jaclyn loved music, and taught herself how to play the organ. She served as the Fruitland Branch organist for 7 years.
She is survived by her children Bruce, Dusty, Cindy, Chad, Casey, Robert, their spouses and partners. She is also survived by her siblings, Steven, Arlene (Bernard), Tawna, Brent, and Lane, their spouses and partners as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted McNiell; her youngest son, Wade McNiell; and adopted son, Amos. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Janet and Bernard Sweat.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 20 at the Fruitland Ward Building at 46250 W 6000 S, Fruitland, UT 84027, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
Jaclyn will be interred at the Fruitland Cemetery.
