Our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, August 25 2017.
LeRoy was an avid hunter and has many trophy elk mounted on his wall to show his dedication. His only son and many of his grandchildren share the same love for hunting as he has taught them everything he knows. You could always find LeRoy with a smile on his face especially if he was camping, hunting, or fishing! LeRoy loved to be surrounded by his family. He enjoyed family vacations to Yellowstone, barbecues, holidays, and good ol' family traditions such as as Christmas tree hunting and making holiday fudge with some taste testing of course!
LeRoy was born on May 2, 1942 in Oldfield Missouri to Ernest and Vernie Richardson along with eleven other siblings. They moved their family to the Heber Valley when he was a young boy where he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife of 56 years, Shirlene Nye. There, they raised their 4 children.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlene and children: Sandra Shelton, Norma(Mike)Peart, Jack(Jill)Richardson, and Milessa(Austin)Healey. LeRoy has 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren with 3 more great-grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise Driskell and Margie Horrocks and brothers Larry(Debbie)Richardson, and Ron(Stephanie)Richardson.
He will be greeted at the veil by his mother, father, 3 sisters: Leora, Mary, & Betty, 4 brothers: Gene, Donald, Kenneth “Purd”, & Junior along with his dogs Gizmo, Tuffy, Pebbles and Sassy.
His welcoming arms, beautiful blue eyes, and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed. We are comforted in knowing he is surrounded by his family and is now at peace. Go rest high on that mountain, until we meet again. We love you.
The viewing will be on Tuesday, August 29th from 6:30-9:00pm at the Heber 4th Ward LDS Chapel (715 E. 600 S., Heber City). The funeral will be on Wednesday, August 30th at 12:00 with a viewing beforehand from 10:30-11:30am also at the Chapel.
In lieu of flower we are asking for donations to assist with the funeral expenses. A gofundme.com account has been set up for the donation, or donations can be handed directly to Shirlene.
