Jack William Young

Jack William Young passed away at his home on April 18, 2020 in Heber City, Utah after a short illness. He was born on October 12, 1936 in Heber City, Utah to Wilson LeRoy Young and Dulce Rose Young. He was the fourth of six children.

Jack graduated from Wasatch High School and married Edith Clara Huber on July 17, 1954 in Heber City, Utah.

He worked for the USGS Soil Conservation Service as an Engineering Technician. He really loved doing onsite snow surveys throughout northern Utah and working with the many farmers and ranchers of Wasatch and Summit County.

He loved being with his family, serving in the Church and being outdoors. He was always happiest when he was in the mountains somewhere. He also enjoyed hunting, softball and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Keith, a sister, Carol and one son, James. He is survived by his wife, two sisters: Merle (Lynn) Broadbent and Marva (Tom) Watson and his children: Allen (Teresa; North Logan), James’ spouse, (Peggy Bauer (Larry); Heber City),Lynette (Tracy; Minden, NV), Brent (Joy, Brigham City), Brian (Robyn; Syracuse), and Julie (Heber City) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service and burial at the Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity.
