Our father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jack Mecham, age 77, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
Born December 11, 1938, in Murray Utah, the son of Amos C. and Mary Ekins Mecham. Jack grew up in the Heber Valley where he spent much of his childhood helping his dad farm, milk cows, and herd sheep. He was a very talented and skilled brick mason; he left evidence of this on many homes and buildings around the Heber Valley. He loved spending time in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed doing those things with the ones that he loved most. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. His eyes would light up anytime the grandkids came around and he never missed an opportunity to share with them one of his many unbelievable life experiences. We will miss and treasure the good times we had and the many stories he told.
He is survived by his children: Kathy (Alan) Barnes, Karolyn (Bud) Fox, Kaye (James) Dahl, Jackie (William D.) Wright, and Jason (Jennie) Mecham; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; Sisters: Arlene Widdison Chandler, Virgie (Stan) Haskell, and Janet (Randy) Maestas. Preceded in death by one granddaughter, one grandson, and both parents.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 12:00 p.m., at the Charleston Cemetery.
