On July 8th, 2021 Jack Garold Lunt passed away peacefully at his home in Heber City, Utah.
Jack was a man of his time, and a tough ole goat right to the very end. Jack was a member of the international Union of Operating Engineers, a hunter, a fisherman, and a hard worker well past retirement. When not busying himself with some task, he could often be found having coffee or a cold beer with his friends. Jack was also a proud grandpa, giving all his grand and great-grandkids their, “moment in the sun”.
Jack was born in Mona, UT, September 23rd, 1927 to Hosmer Mearl Lunt and Cora Elizabeth Young. He served his country in the 1940’s before marrying Patsy Jean Duke.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Valorie A. Rodriguez (Joe); his son Phillip J. Lunt (Dana Simoneaux); granddaughters Daphinie C. Walton (David) Hilary DiStenfano (Joe); seven great-grandchildren, Teagan M. Allen, Samantha Knight, Devin J. Walton, Jalisse I. Polanco, Rocker D. Horrocks, Morgan W. Walton, Vinny J. DiStefano, and one great-great-granddaughter River B. Kalani.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patsy, his seven siblings, Stanford “Pete” C. Lunt, Moneves C. Borden, Garth O. Lunt, Colleen B. Murdock, Dixie E. Sorensen, Cheree Spendlove, Mearl D. Lunt; two sons Roy H. Lunt, Bruce Lunt; and two grandchildren Peter J. Rodriguez, Tess M. Lunt.
Graveside services will be held at the Heber City Cemetery on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 am.
A viewing will be held at Heber Valley Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to graveside service.
