Iris Santos passed away on the morning of April 30, 2020 at the Spring Gardens assisted living center. Her Birthday is May 6th so she was just a few days shy of 96 years old. She lived a long full life with many accomplishments and talents and influenced all she came in contact with. She was a teacher, a mentor, and a family counselor. A painter, a writer and an opera singer were among her many talents.
Iris was born May 6, 1924 to Joseph and Norma Tuckett Taylor. She had three siblings who all preceded her in death. She had no children. She was born in Provo, Utah but set out for California in her early twenties. She returned to Utah fourteen years ago to be with family members. She was a sister to Normalind Smith and resided with her niece Bonnie Davis for eight years before entering the Spring Gardens Community Center (formerly The Abbington). She made many friends here in the valley and I thank all of them.
Thanks to the staff at Spring Gardens. They do a great job. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
