Irene Wilson Tisdale

January 7, 1926 — January 31, 2018

lrene Wilson Tisdale was released from her mission here on earth on January 31, 2018. She passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born January 7, 1926 at Roosevelt, Utah at the home of her grandparents, Brigham and Mary Herbert Young. She is the oldest daughter of Arthur P and Mary Elizabeth Young Wilson.

She went to school in Ethete, Wyoming, Roosevelt, Utah, Myton, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, Pocatello, ldaho, and then was graduated from Provo High School.

She married William Geary 3 March 1945 in Provo Utah, and was divorced in 1947. She married Glenn Vincent Tisdale on 12 February 1948. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on 17 April 1958. They were the parents of seven children and three foster children. lrene and Glenn had many people stay in their home over the years. They were always happy to love and care for those in need. Glenn passed away 21 October 1978.

lrene served in many callings in the church: Cub Scout Den Leader, Primary Presidency, Primary Teacher, MIA President, MIA Teacher, and Relief Society President. She always loved the calling of Visiting Teacher. She worked in the Family History Center from September 1978 until May 2014. She worked in both German and Spanish extraction, and was a stake and regional trainer. She served a mission for her church in the Washington, Seattle Mission. She also worked as an indexer for many years and was Director of the Stake Family History Center and Stake Director for the extraction program.

She loved her family, being a caring daughter and mother, and being a sister to not only her own sisters, but Glenn's siblings. She truly loved her many aunts and uncles and all seventy of her first cousins.

She worked as a Chemist at Geneva Steel while still in high school. She was a mechanics helper at Tooele Army Depot during the Korean War. She worked as a lunch lady for Wasatch County Schools. The job that was most important to her and that she loved most was that of wife and mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sons: William (Bud) Tisdale, and Ernest Tisdale; Grandchildren: Thelma Begay, Ernest Shane Tisdale, Leesa Woody, Cody James Richins, Alfonso Lewis; and all her aunts and uncles and grandparents.

She is survived by children: Pamela Tisdale, Christy Barnard, Allen Tisdale, Loretta (Robert) Fillmore, Lynn (Kris) Tisdale, Jessie (James) Richins, Lewis (Wina) Tisdale, Alyce (Al) Johns, Fred (Deana) Woody, Amelia Lewis, forty grandchildren and many great grandchildren, and six great, great, grandchildren; Sisters: Bonnie Lucido and Marian Barney; Sisters-in-law: Loa (Roy) Shepherd and Ruby Taylor. She will also be missed by dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be viewings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9th and at 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Wallsburg LDS Chapel 494 West Main Canyon Rd. A funeral will be held at 12:00 noon at the same location following the viewing on Saturday. lnterment at the Wallsburg, Utah City Cemetery.
