Helen Hansen Denniston passed away comfortably in her home on Sunday, May 7th after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was the first daughter of Larry and Janice Hansen, born in Burley, Idaho on January 16th, 1961. She graduated from Burley High School in 1979 where she was a cheerleader and played basketball and tennis.
Helen married Kevin A. Stocks, and together they had daughter Jessica while Kevin served in the Air Force at George Air Force Base in California. They later divorced and remained good friends.
While living in Sandy, Utah, Helen met Guy L. Denniston, who was in town on business from California. Guy and Helen married in 1991 on a boat in Newport Beach harbor, and together had son Jared L. Denniston. At her time of death, Helen and Guy were residing in Heber City, Utah.
Helen will be remembered as an avid sports fan, a talented skier, and a fantastic cook. She is survived by her husband and kids, parents Larry and Janice, sisters Suzanne Hansen and Mary Cook, future son-in-law Michael Fitzgerald, and beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11th, at 10:00 AM at the Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s honor to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
