Heber City- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Harold “LeRoy” Horrocks 84, returned home to his Father in Heaven on February 7, 2017. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
LeRoy was born on January 1, 1933 to Harold and Evelyn (Broadhead) Horrocks of Heber City, Utah. He met his sweetheart of nearly 65 years Arlene (Boren) Horrocks at Wasatch High School and they were married on April 11, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity. Together, they raised seven wonderful sons.
He was a very honest and hardworking man. He always did whatever was necessary to provide for his large family. He was a giant among men and a hero to many. He spent many years working in the mines, where he sustained many injuries, some of which left lifelong scars and much physical pain, but he never let that slow him down.
He loved being in the mountains and appreciated all the beauty that surrounded him. He enjoyed camping, hunting and anything that he could do on the back of his beloved Appaloosa horses. More than anything, He loved and cherished each and every member of his family. Every single one love him and felt unconditional love from him.
A special thank you goes out to IHC Hospice Care and Lisa Nelson for the great care she has shown to our family, Probst funeral home, the Lake Creek First Ward and all the many, many friends and family who have shown their love and support for us at this time.
LeRoy is survived by his eternal companion, Arlene Horrocks, his sons, Kent Horrocks (Pat), Tim Horrocks (the late Melinda Horrocks, and Angela), Duane Horrocks(Sharon), Ronnie Horrocks, Mark Horrocks (Pauline), Bruce Horrocks (Necia), Blaine Horrocks, his sisters, Karen Ayers (Larry), and Joan Baker (Alvin), a brother Brent Horrocks, 27 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Evelyn Horrocks and a daughter in law Melinda Horrocks.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Lake Creek 1st Ward (1661 E. 980 S., Heber City, Utah). There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the same location. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
