Grant B Kohler

March 19, 1960 — July 23, 2023

Grant B Kohler, also known as that darn Grant, or Goober or ‘The Big Cheese” was born March 19, 1960. He passed away surrounded by his family on July 23, 2023, at the age of 63 in St. George, Utah. Grant was the 5th child of LeRoy and Phyllis Kohler.

Grant was born and raised in Midway, Utah attending Wasatch High School graduating in 1978 and continuing his education by attending Utah State University and receiving his bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering along with a degree in Cheese Making with a minor in Business Management. Grant served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to New York, New York. After returning home, he met Caralee Clark and soon started a courtship that ultimately led to them marrying for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on September 14, 1983.

Grant loved to work and to always be going. He stood by the motto, “We Work Hard and We Play Hard”. Being the 3rd generation to run his dairy farm, you could always find Grant in a pasture, fixing sprinklers or his personal favorite serving others. Grant served others in many capacities from Search and Rescue (22 years), running on the ambulance as an EMT (25 years), being President of Wasatch County Farm Bureau (8 years), National Dairy Board, and on the board for Midway Irrigation along with many others.
Grant served in many callings in the Church from serving in the nursery to being in the bishopric and serving on the High Council. Grants love of his Savior Jesus Christ inspired him to love everyone and bear his testimony to all. Serving others was Grant’s passion.

Grant made everyone feel mattered. He especially made his grandchildren know that they were important and especially loved. He attended as many of their events and activities as he could, many times having multiple in the same day. Each of his grandchildren knew that grandpa loved them.
Preceding him in death are his parents LeRoy and Phyllis Kohler, his brother Phillip, many aunts and uncles and his grandparents.

Grant is survived by his wife Caralee Kohler, children Russel (Heather), Whitney (Dal), Heather (Spencer), Amber (Chad), Alyssa (Dustin) with 16 grandchildren, 1 in the oven and 2 that greeted him as he returned home.
