Glen Irwin Hicken

July 20, 1927 — July 30, 2025

Heber City

Glen Irwin Hicken, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted servant of God, passed away peacefully, beside Carroll Lee, his loving wife, at the age of 98 on July 30, 2025. Born on July 20, 1927, to Irwin and Ruby Hicken in Heber City, Utah.

Eager to serve his nation during World War II, he enlisted into the United States Navy, where he demonstrated in his youth the same quiet strength and discipline that defined his life. Glen lived a life of deep faith, unwavering service, and enduring love for the Savior. Glen served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. His time there left a lasting impression on him, and he cherished the opportunity to share his faith and love for the gospel with others. Glen and Carroll Lee were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951, later serving as temple workers in the same temple for 16 years and a mission to the Toronto Canada Temple.

Glen was a devoted husband to Carroll Lee, his sweetheart nearly 75 years of love, faith and family. Together, they raised 6 children: David (Thim), Karl, Bruce (Jerolyn), Glenna Lee Day (Davon), Alan (Jani), and Drew (Paislee). Glen found his greatest joy in his family, and his legacy lives on through his 20 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren each of whom he inspired with his wisdom, integrity, and patriotism.

During Glen’s full career, he worked for Link Belt Company as a representative of their original manufacturing equipment for farming, mining and manufacturing with emphasis on steel made in the USA. Glen was mechanical and very handy, becoming the neighborhood repairman. His service was always provided as an act of kindness. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, community, and family.
