Georgia Nichols (née Marsh, also known as Georgia Laird), 80, passed away in Midway, Utah October 30, 2026. She was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her kindness and devotion to her family and friends.
Georgia was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Jack Marsh, an Osage citizen, and Annie (Ragone) Marsh, who was of Italian descent.
In her youth, Georgia loved spending time riding horses and was a talented seamstress. As an adult, she dedicated herself to a career as a medical professional. Upon retiring, she and her husband embarked on a new chapter by opening a bed and breakfast on Schweitzer Mountain, in Sandpoint, Idaho, where her warm hospitality and goodness welcomed many.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Larry Laird (26 years married) and George Nichols (28 years married)
She is survived by her children, Roy (Lauri), Terrilynn (Creed); stepdaughters: Laura (Mark) and Nancy Paige, grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and extended family; many of whom are Osage Nation citizens.
Per Georgia’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Osage Nation Foundation to support future generations of the Osage community, or The Sundance Nature Alliance.
