Geneva Howarth Anderson, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on September 5, 2024. She was born in Heber City, Utah on April 28, 1933 to Esther and Thomas Howarth.
She married John M. Anderson on April 26, 1952, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 29, 1954. They raised their family in Daniels, Utah and had 59 years together.
Survived by her daughter Sherri Kirk (Larry), son Tom Anderson, son-in-law Cecil Willis, grandchildren, Curt Willis (Liza), Matthew Willis, Sharee Reich (Matt), Shelly Willis, Clint Willis, Preston Mahoney, Heather Wright (AJ), Taiya Nelson (Derek), and eight great-grandchildren . Also survived by her sister Faye Rowley (Stan), sister-in-law Beth Howarth and many nieces and nephews.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Kathy Willis, son Russell Anderson, daughter-in-law Kristin Sohrweide, her sisters Romona Bates, Miriam Simpkins and brother Jay Howarth.
Geneva grew up on a farm, where she learned the value of hard work. She had a variety of passions, most noted by friends and family was her amazing green thumb. Her flower gardens were a great joy to her. She was also a very accomplished artist, baker, her pies are legendary, and talented quilter and seamstress.
She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership roles including Daniel Ward Relief Society President.
An evening viewing will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Daniel’s Ward (2285 S Daniels Rd, Heber City, UT 84032). A daytime viewing on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Daniel’s Ward and a graveside service to follow at the Heber City Cemetery (680 N 550 E, Heber City, UT 84032) at 11:30am.
The family wishes to extend great appreciation to the staff at Spring Gardens in Heber City. Their compassionate care enabled mom to continue to enjoy life over the past year.
