Gene Willard Cox passed peacefully from this world on April 23, 2024 in Heber City, Utah at the age of 88. He was born to Eliza LaVaun Mair and Loren Cox on September 30, 1935 in Heber City, Utah.
Growing in the valley shaped Gene into a hard worker, a trait he continued to have all his life. Gene grew a love for the mountains after he had spent time herding cattle in them on his horse. Even in his older years, he still fondly spoke of those days and the beauty he saw. Gene also had a passion for serving his community with his mechanical skills, especially to help fix their farm equipment.
On September 5, 1976 Gene’s life would be forever changed. On that day, he married his sweetheart Liesa J Thielke and they would bring their seven children together and share almost 48 wonderful years.
Gene will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His faith in his Heavenly Father and Savior will always and forever be his constitution.
Gene lives on through his dear wife Liesa T. Cox and children Pamela Kim (Ralph) Duke, Susan (Stacy) Davis, Patricia Kay (Richard) Emerson, Martha Evelyn (Kevin) Farley, John Henry (Holly) Cox, and Gina Marie Cox (Rod) Talbot; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Loren and Eliza; his daughter Sheila B. Titcomb; and siblings Doris Patricia Worthington, Roberta Seevers, and Ronald Arlen Cox.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Heber City Cemetery at 680 N 550 E, Heber City, UT 84032.
