Charleston Town Cemetery
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Mountain time)
Gary Lynn Edwards, age 65, beloved son of Calvin and Mary Edwards, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Gary is survived by his devoted partner of 19 years, James L. Hays and their dog Hank, his siblings Ken (Nadine), Mark (Connie), Tom (Laura), Cathy (Debbie), and his former wife and longtime friend, Sherry Edwards. Gary was cherished deeply by his extended family, friends, co-workers, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Gary built a successful and respected 35-year career with Quality Mills in Bloomington, Indiana. His dedication and strong relationships earned him numerous accolades, including the honor of Salesman of the Year—a reflection of both his professional excellence and the genuine way he connected with others.
Outside of work, Gary found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He was an avid snow skier who loved the mountains, an enthusiastic fisherman, and a passionate traveler who especially treasured time spent with his family. Gary also had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs, and was a longtime supporter of Best Friends Animal Rescue.
Gary will be remembered for his warmth, his adventurous spirit, his loyalty, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate aides and staff at Crescent Memory Care for the exceptional care and kindness they provided. They are also deeply grateful to Canyon Home Care and Hospice for their support and for helping keep Gary comfortable and at peace during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Gary’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Utah. https://www.alz.org/utah
A private graveside service will be held for family members and close friends at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Charleston Town Cemetery. The family is grateful for the love and support of all who knew him.
