On April 30, 2026 our son, brother, uncle and friend completed his earthly journey and returned to his heavenly home. Francis D. Harrison Jr. was born November 1, 1965 to Francis D. and Nyda M. Harrison in Heber City, Utah.
Francis had a wonderful childhood in the Heber Valley. He loved the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the wildlife that inhabited them. The desert was another of his favorite places to visit. He enjoyed the beauty and solitude found there. Many days were spent with family and friends exploring and enjoying the outdoors.
Though Francis spent much time outdoors, he also had a passion for work. He realized early that he enjoyed working with his hands which led to a career in construction and facility management. As a young contractor, several homes in the area were designed and built by Francis. This was somewhat of a hobby as he did this mostly after work. For 28 years, Wasatch School District was the focus of an incredible career. The opportunity to manage both construction and maintenance of school facilities was challenging and rewarding. Francis loved his job and those he worked with.
A love of family and friends in Francis' life was evident by the time that he spent with them. He was lovingly known as uncle "Fud” by his nieces and nephews. He had a simple yet deep connection with each family member.
Vacation was a great break from the usual routine. As a boy, Francis and family visited Yellowstone, which was likely key to his love of the outdoors and his respect for nature. He returned to Yellowstone frequently with those that he loved. He also enjoyed cruising each winter and loved the warm weather of the Caribbean.
As a child, Francis was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ by his parents, family, and fellow church members. His testimony of Jesus Christ was of great importance to him. As a young man, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tampa, Florida mission. Many other church callings brought joy to his life including ward and stake financial clerk, stake high councilor, stake executive secretary, and ward mission leader.
Francis leaves a legacy of faith, hope, and joy. He will be greatly missed, "Till We Meet Again"!
He is survived by his siblings: John (Tammy) Harrison, Penny “PJ" Hair (Lance Owens), and Sally (Greg) Martinez. He is predeceased by his mother Nyda, his Father Francis Sr., his sister, Shelly H. Luke, and his brother Lee Harrison.
