Floyd Edwards

June 5, 1924 — July 11, 2016

Floyd Edwards, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away at home on July 11, 2016, at the age of 92, due to age related complications.

Floyd was born on June 5, 1924, to Glen Raymond and Vienna Clyde Edwards. He had two older brothers, Robert and Douglas, and a younger sister, Glennis V. Edwards Sidwell. When their father passed away, the three young boys took over running the farm. This they did until World War II began. Floyd and his brothers served in the war for over 3 years. When Floyd returned from his service in the Navy over in the South Pacific, he served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the North Central States Mission--Minnesota. Upon returning home from his mission, he married Marva Thacker in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1952. They resided in Charleston, Utah where they had three children, Debra Carol, Douglas Glen and Karen Ray. In 1960, Floyd and Marva moved their family and dairy operation to the Treasure Valley and Kuna, Idaho where they added two more children to their family, Wayne Floyd and Aaron Dale. Floyd and Marva lived there on the farm until 1994 when they turned the farm over to Glen and moved back to Heber to retire. Over the years, Floyd served on 2 different Soil Conservation Boards and in many different capacities in the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marva, their children Debra (Randy Plane), Glen (Kris Tracy), Karen (Paul Beard), Wayne (Shari Jo Jorgenson), and Aaron (Julie Dayley). They have 21 grand children and 33 great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his granddaughter, Tracy Edwards.

The family would like to offer our sincere thanks to all those who have helped, encouraged and visited over the past little while as Floyd's health declined. The Hospice caregivers-- Lisa Nelson, Brittany Lee, granddaughter Jennifer Avery and her husband Carl Avery who have spent a lot of time helping their grandfather, ward members, neighbors and friends.

There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Heber 5th Ward, 150 North 200 West, Heber City, Utah. Floyd's funeral service will be held in the Heber 5th Ward, on Saturday, July 16, 2016. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00. This will be followed by interment in the Charleston, Utah Cemetery.
