Farrell John Thacker peacefully passed through the veil on April 24, 2023 at home in Sandy, Utah. He was born December 12, 1932 in Heber City Utah. Farrell's parents are Irwin and Lorna Simmons Thacker. Farrell served in the US Navy after High School Graduation. Following his return home, he was called to serve an LDS Mission to the South African people.
Farrell married Bonnie Watson in 1957 . They had 3 children- LeAnn, Kevin and Rebecca. They were later divorced. In 1971, Farrell married Paula Galli, and adopted her daughter, Amber Jill. To that union, 2 sons were born- Anthony and Clinton .
Farrell loved his family, and his family adored him! The majority of his leisure time was centered around family involved activities. His favorite sport was catching fish! Lots of his grandchildren were taught his fishing secrets- but mostly they just loved to be in the boat- on the lake - fishing with Papa. The family cabin was Farrell's “happy place”- and he always elected to go there for his “time-out”. Farrell also enjoyed travel. Beyond the time he spent in Japan while serving in the Navy and his South African Mission, he traveled to Russia and Denmark with his wife. Also to Alaska fishing, and to every corner of the U.S.
Farrell also had a firm testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed his activity within his ward.
Farrell is survived by his wife Paula, and his 6 children- LeAnn Vranes, Kevin Thacker, Rebecca Brown, Jill Klinger, Anthony Thacker and Clinton Thacker, 25 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Brothers, Lee and Morris: sisters Joleen Gines and Merleen Skillicorn and sister-in-law, Nadine Thacker. Preceded in death by his brother Junior Thacker
