Elizabeth McDonald Palmier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at her home on February 28, 2016, in Heber City, Utah surrounded by her family after fighting a courageous battle with liver cancer. Liz was born on May 19th, 1958 to Guy and Barbara McDonald. She was the fifth of seven children and had a full childhood riding horses and helping on the family farm. Liz attended school in Heber City and graduated from Wasatch High in 1976. In 1977 she married Brent Parcell and they became the proud parents of three boys, Jake, Preston, and Shane. They later divorced. She married Gilbert Palmier on February 2, 2000, and welcomed his children Kirsten and Drew to her family. Because of her children she became a very proud grandma (Grandma Lizard) to seven beautiful grandchildren - Julia, Jax, Carley, Khloe, Mack, Blake, and Kreed. Liz started her career as a hair dresser where she worked for many years. She started working for Wasatch County in the Recorder Office in May of 1991 and in January of 1995 she was elected as the Wasatch County Recorder where she has served for the past 26 years. She was never one to shy away from hard work. Many times she could be found working 2 or 3 jobs and still found time to further her education where she received an Associate’s Degree at Utah Valley University in 2015. Liz lived and breathed the Heber Valley community. She spent countless hours and 30 plus years involved in 4-H, Junior Livestock Auction, served as Secretary for Mountain Valley Stampede, team organizer for Relay for Life, exhibitor at the Wasatch County Fair just to name a few. She loved entering her crafts in the County Fair and won many awards for her quilting and crocheting. Excelling in everything she did, Liz enjoyed golf, yard work, camping with her family, and helping her neighbors. But her greatest passion was her grandchildren. Liz is survived by her husband Gilbert; children Jake (Lindsey) Parcell, Wallsburg, UT, Shane (Chelsey) Parcell, Heber, UT, Drew Palmier, Calgary, Alt.
