Elisabeth Kluth Honseler, 97, passed away peacefully on September 17. She was born in East Prussia where she lived happily with her family on their farm. She and the few surviving members of her family were forced to leave their country. She was later married and immigrated to America with her husband, Theodor Honseler. They settled in Southern California where they raised their three children. During their time in California, they taught themselves English and worked hard for the 'American Dream'. Upon retirement they moved to Vancouver, Washington, where they enjoyed the same weather as their home country of Germany. In 2006 they moved to Midway, Utah, to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Several years after Elisabeth's husband passed, she moved into Spring Gardens Assisted Living where she enjoyed almost nine years, and was recognized as the longest resident until her passing. She loved the residents and especially the staff at Spring Gardens, and they loved and cared for her in her final hours. Elisabeth was never without a smile and loved everyone she met, she was deeply religious, and had a very kind heart.
A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:30am located at St. Mary's Catholic Church (1505 White Pine Canyon Rd, Park City, UT 84060). There will be a gathering prior to the service at 10:00am in the church foyer for those that would like to greet Elisabeth's family.
Interment will follow at Midway City Cemetery (600 W 500 S, Midway, UT 84049).
