Doyle P Simmons passed away in the early morning hours on Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home in Francis, Utah. He was surrounded by his family as he passed from this life to the next.
He was born March 13, 1935 in Francis, Utah. His goodly parents were Albert and Nettie May Prescott Simmons. He was the third and youngest child. He attended schools in Kamas, Utah. On October 6, 1954 he married his sweetheart, Mary Jean McKenzie, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple. They made their home in Francis, Summit County, Utah. Doyle worked in lumber and farming. He then worked for the Summit County Road Department for over thirty years until he retired in 1993. He served in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including serving in the Salt Lake temple as a temple worker for fifteen and a half years. He served in many capacities at the temple, and his favorite was working in the baptistery.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart, Mary Jean McKenzie Simmons, his parents, his brother Dale Simmons, sister Rita (Elmer) Andreason, sons Stanley Gene Simmons and Michael Albert Simmons, Son in Law Dennis Ricks, grandchildren Angela Priest and John Priest, and great-great grandson Jaxson Torres.
He is survived by his sons Mark Simmons of Francis, UT Keith (Marsha) Simmons of Blackfoot, ID, Blaine Simmons of Francis, UT, and daughters Karma Ricks of Francis, UT and Sandra (Dell Ray) Priest of Shelley, Idaho, daughter in law Kay Simmons of Francis, UT, sister-in-law Loella Simmons of Francis, UT He is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Francis LDS Church, 387 W Frontier Lane, Francis Utah. A viewing will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 and also from 9:30am-10:30am prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery. Services are under direction of Probst Funeral Home in Heber City.
