Don Hicken

Don Leroy Hicken passed away November 18, 2017 at the age of 103 of causes incident to age. He was born in Heber City, Utah January 10, 1914 to J. Claudius and Verna M. Hicken. He graduated from Wasatch High School in May, 1932. On June 24, 1936 he married his eternal sweetheart, Mima Broadbent in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a businessman, farmer, cattleman, civic servant and gentle friend to many. He served a full time mission to the Eastern States from 1952 to 1954 and later served a mission with Mima in Micronesia-Guam. He served as a bishop for 9 years and in many other church callings including ordinance worker in the Salt Lake , Provo and Mt Timpanogas Temples. “Can’t” was not part of his vocabulary. He was a finisher.

He is survived by his two sons: D. Lynn (Jalaine) Hicken of Heber and Dee A. (Judy Ann) Hicken of South Jordan; twelve grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife Mima, his parents, brother, and three sisters and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at noon in the Heber Fourth Ward, 240 East 400 South, Heber City, Utah. There will be a viewing from 10:00 - 11:30 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Heber Cemetery. Arrangements are in in care of Probst Family Funerals.
