Dennis Byron Jensen

March 22, 1936 — August 29, 2022

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Dennis Byron Jensen, 86, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 29, 2022 at ~7:15 pm in Heber City, Utah.

He lived his life as a wonderful example to his family and all who knew him of faith in God, putting family first, honoring his priesthood, following the Lord, praying as if it's all up to God, and then working as if it's all up to him, enjoying the beauties of nature, and living life to the fullest to the very end.

Dennis attended Snow College where he played Center for the Basketball team. It wasn't long before he realized that he would be more productive in his studies if he married his sweetheart. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Poulson on June 28,1957 in the Manti Temple.

After marriage, the couple moved to Logan, UT, where he attended Utah State University where he completed his degree in Forestry and Range Management. He loved being outdoors and he took his family on many camping trips and picnics. His family enjoyed exploring the National Parks around where the family lived at the time. His family consequently developed a great love for nature through his wonderful example.

Dennis and Kathleen raised a beautiful family of 7 children. He lived with his family in several places, including Beaver, Utah Heber, Utah, Driggs, Idaho, Fredonia, Arizona and Luna, New Mexico while he worked as a Forest Ranger before finally settling in Heber, Utah where he resided with his family for many years.

He enjoyed working as a Forest Ranger for years. His assignment in Heber was management over strawberry reservoir while public use facilities were being developed.

He served in many capacities in his church including Scoutmaster for many years, a Seventy, and Bishop of the Heber 7th Ward. He and Kathleen also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Detroit MI.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and six children, Diana (Don) JACOBSON, Craig (Julie) JENSEN, Karen ADAMSON, Brenda SPIVA, Jan (Jon) WALL, and Jared (Analee) JENSEN, 27 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Spencer, his sisters, Kay JENSEN and Lorna DICKERSON, great grandsons, Connor Burdette PIXTON and Jeremiah Ned SPACKMAN, and his parents Byron and Vera JENSEN of Redmond, Utah.
