Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Delvene Sweat Bronson, age 89 , passed away peacefully Saturday Dec. 12, 2015 in Heber City, Utah.
Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Center Creek, UT, the ninth of ten children born to Lewis and Ora Galli Sweat, Jr. Married Keith Clark Bronson, April 17, 1947 in Yuma, Calif. After moving back to Midway, Keith contracted polio, at age 26 with 2 small children, she moved back to Calif. where he was treated in the LA Polio Clinic for 3 yrs. Her mother and sister JoAnn joined her to help work and keep the family together. Although he was in a wheelchair the rest of his life, she felt very blessed when he, the only one out 28 patients, was able to leave there to live at home again. Over the years she worked very hard at the telephone office, as a waitress, at the sewing factory, Signetics, Wasatch Hospital and for school lunch so they could provide for their family. On Dec. 15, 1983, a life-long dream was realized when Keith and Delvene were sealed in the LDS Provo Temple. On Jan. 14, 1984, Keith passed away from a 3-yr battle with cancer. Delvene later married Victor Ruthven Bronson Sept. 20, 1986. Victor passed away Aug. 18, 1996.
Active in the LDS Church, she served in many callings and especially enjoyed working in the temple. She loved life and delighted in her family.
Survived by children; Larry Keith Bronson, Micheal Lewis Bronson, June Delvene MacNaughtan (Roy). 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Hicken (Roger); husbands; parents; and siblings Gladys Smith, Lois Anderson, Alice Deveraux, Dean Sweat, Nelda Watkins, Alta Meeks, Floyd Sweat, Avis Sweat, JoAnn Sweat.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec 17, 12:00 at the LDS Midway 2nd Ward, 1102 S Center St., Midway. Viewing Wed. form 6-8 and Thurs. 10:30-11:30 both at the church. Interment will follow in the Midway City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Probst Funeral Home, Midway.
