Deborah Elizabeth O'Toole

Deborah Elizabeth O’Toole died on September 4, 2026, at age 65. She married, divorced, and rekindled her love again with Jerry Dalton, with whom she shared her life until her death. Deborah endured continuous physical pain during her life that tried to break her will to endure. Her reunion with Jerry was transformative for her, and despite continued pain, she found the happiest days of her life with Jerry. They enjoyed activities and adventures together unimaginable before. Devoted, determined, and above all stubborn to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce Mary Maureen Watts O’Toole and Bernard Russel O’Toole.

Although Deborah had no children, she cherished her beloved dogs and cats as family: Ranier, Footer, Kiki, Hissy, and finally Dusty, who remains at home with Jerry.

Deborah O’Toole penned more than 80 books across multiple genres. Her works include Celtic Remnants, a novel of enduring yet impossible love and betrayal set amid Ireland’s turbulence, The Crypt Artist, Glinhaven, Mind Sweeper, and the eleven-part Short Tales Collection. Under the name Deidre Dalton, she wrote the ten-part Collective Obsessions Saga, which chronicles two families' lives over more than 165 years. Much of the series unfolds against the backdrop of a Gothic seaside mansion in Maine. She also wrote the Bloodline Trilogy, following the magical journey of three women through time. As Shenanchie O’Toole, she authored a dozen cookbooks and more than 40 titles in the exclusive Food Fare Culinary Collection and contributed to the food-focused websites Food Fare, Savorys by Shenanchie, Shenanchie’s Kitchen, and Ambermont Magazine.
