David LaMar Hackford, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & friend to everyone he met passed away June 28th, 2023.
Born March 14th, 1936, in LaPoint, Utah to Melvin and Eva Fontella Van Hackford. Married to Shannon Allison Hackford for 50 years.
Dad loved the outdoors and telling tall tales, funny stories and teasing the grandchildren. Raised herding sheep with his family, dabbled with light weight boxing, worked on the oil rigs until he Started work with The Department of Transportation and retired after 25 years. He always wanted to go back to his childhood of herding sheep, and he did that with the Fitzgerald’s for a few years and finally retired and became a snowbird going back and forth from St. George to Heber.
Preceded in death: Wife, Shannon Allison Hackford, Parents, Brothers, Bish and Lynn. Sisters; Bernice, Dee, Elda, Lucile, Bernice, Yosabella, 2 children, Carlinda and Kevin along with 5 grandchildren.
Survived by: Brother Lew (Cleo) Hackford, Sister June (Colin) Mudock, Daughters Debbie (Keith) Davis, Margret (Harvy) O’Mara, Kathy (Val) Davis, Karen Walters, Kelli (Todd) Charlesworth and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday July 20th, 2023, at 1pm at the Heber City Cemetery located at 650 N 550 E. Heber City, UT. A luncheon will follow the graveside at 538 N. 1400 East, Heber City, UT.
