David Earl Bates, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at his home in Daniel, Utah, on October 1, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.
David was born October 16, 1956, in Heber, Utah, to William Earl and Norma Nye Bates. He married Jan Kristen Overn on March 19, 1977, in Heber, Utah.
They were blessed with three children, Korey, Derrick (Kerrstin) and Jamaica. They have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
David enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, go camping and being in the mountains. He loved to drive the Polaris crew everywhere.
David was a hard, dedicated worker all of his life. He worked at Deer Valley Resort for the last 22 years doing maintenance and spa tech. He could fix anything and was always willing to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ricky Allen Bates.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kristen; sons, Korey, Derrick (Kerrstin) and daughter, Jamaica. Grandchildren, Chelsey, Wesley, Brynlee and Kingston, Porter and Kira,
Trenton and Jailyn and Peyton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
