Darrell Mair

October 28, 1943 — December 30, 2017

Our loving husband and father returned home to our loving Heavenly Father on December 30, 2017 peacefully in his home.

He was born October 28, 1943 in Park City, Utah to Darrell Mair (Buck) and June Sweatfield Mair. As a young boy he grew up in the Mountains of Heber City and Tooele. He graduated from Tooele High School and then spent his time herding sheep, working for the Forest Service and earned a degree as a Machinist. Darrell served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aviation Mechanic.

Darrell met his lovely wife Carol Lee Brandt at Chick's Cafe in Heber City. They were married on January 20, 1970 and made their home in Heber. On January 18, 1986 Darrell and Carol and their 5 children were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple. Darrell was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings throughout his life he was very dedicated to his callings, and loved by those he served.

Darrell worked hard as a carpenter and then later worked for Wasatch County in various positions. He spent his leisure time making memories with his family hunting, fishing, camping and wood gathering. He loved having his children by his side and teaching them the value of work. When Darrell retired you would find him at home diving into his many hobbies of models, crocheting and grandkids.

Darrell was proceeded in death by his parents Darrell Mair and June Sweatfield Mair and his in laws John and Lucy Brandt. Darrell is survived by his two sisters Rose (the late Jerry Chatwin) of Roosevelt, Leanna (Joe) Mair of Heber City. And his 5 children Jason (Sarah) Mair Heber City, Zenda (Chad) Wall of Fruitland, Bodey (Tammy) Mair Heber City, Aaron (Carrie) Mair Oahu Hawaii, Andrea (George) Ward Midway. Darrell has 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 5th at 11am in the Heber 6th Ward Chapel, 1365 Center Street. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8pm and Friday from 9 to 10:30 am prior to the services both at the LDS church. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
